  • Peterlee Prioresses in Tapestry Triumph

    Despite losing the war and being subjugated to the rule of the Norman Duke William, the north east did gain consolation when three local nuns from the Abbeys of Shotton and Peterlee were invited to Bayeaux in Northern France to weave a tapestry commorating Harolds crushing defeat and the dawn of a new era in English life. The Nuns Sister Jackon, Sister Cameron and Mother Superior Dixon, have created  a tapestry.
