  • The green changemakers

    A brief description

    The Green changemakers project aims to innovatively develop and implement education programs for sustainable development through the development of competences and active participation of students in the field of sustainable development while strengthening the partnership between schools and local communities in raising awareness of sustainable development. The activities of the project will encourage students to act and initiate actions aimed at achieving the goals of sustainable development and sustainable society in its entirety. A series of educational, informative, practical, and creative activities and methods of innovative and experiential learning will raise the level of knowledge, awareness, and skills for the adoption of “green” lifestyle in accordance with sustainable development. Informing the public and media about the importance of the topic of sustainable development, as well as project implementation, will promote project activities, the importance of sustainable development, environmental and nature care, and environmental action, all with the aim of developing a sustainable community.

    The goals of the project 

    Raising awareness and involvement of students in processes of (local and global) sustainable development through strengthening of critical understanding and the acquisition of practical knowledge and skills necessary to actively participate in the challenges of sustainable development.

    Empowering students to make informed decisions and apply sustainable lifestyles related to their own health in interaction with nature and the environment in addition to raising students’ awareness of the importance of sustainable development and their role in the community (implementation of student sustainable development projects at school and/or local community).

    Empowering teachers and local community stakeholders on sustainable development by informing numerous communication channels within the project as well as encouraging active participation in environmental activities for the benefit of the local community.

    Improving educational processes “green”, sustainable, global content by using interactive methods and experiential learning.

    Expected results

    At least, 3 partner online meetings conducted, ensuring a good communication channel among partners. At least, 3 joint online meetings of students conducted to get acquainted with, share tasks and present the results of activities. The realized invited guest speaker lecture and ecological action of collecting EE waste at the local level. Involvement of at least 3 partner schools - 6 teachers and 40 students. Evaluations will determine compliance of set objectives and implementation within given deadlines to prevent and address potential implementation problems. Satisfaction with the implementation of activities will be monitored through feedback of students/teachers. Realization of planned 17 activities in a year through improved knowledge, skills, and attitudes of students in the context of critical thinking and action in accordance with the goals of sustainable development. Improved competences of teachers for the implementation of sustainable development programs. Dissemination and visibility of the project through prepared blog and e-book.
