Last 18th May we visited Paestum archeological site.

.Paestum is situated on the Tyrrenean coast, on the south of Salerno.

The oldest traces of human settlement date back to the Paleolitic Period.Aound 600 BC the Greeks from Sybaris founded a city. 

The temples are dedicated to Athena and Hera that are still well preserved

During the visit we have also assisted to a dramatization performed on the Athena temple. 

 

We have also visited the museum with lots of interesting  ancient finds.

 

 

The most important one is the "TUFFATORE" tomb that was of a greek diver,  it's the biggest evidence of Greek painting.It is realized by using the fresco technique.
