There were lots of factories in our region in the 18th - 19th century where glass, iron, wood and mother-of-pearls used to be processed. They don't exist nowadays, most of them ceased to exist after the WW II. Pupils from Přimda visited the former Ernest Polier- und Schleifwerk which is situated in the forest near the village Stará Knížecí Huť. This factory where the glass was processed was founded by Ernest Malowetz in the first half of the 19th century. It was "buried" for many years in the forest but 2013 the local historian Zdeněk Procházka discovered it. We were allowed to visit it and take a look at it - not only at the parts above ground but the parts below too. It was very interesting.

Es gab da mehrere Industriewerke im 18. - 19. Jh. in unserer Region, wo Glas, Eisen, Holz und Perlmütter bearbeitet wurden. Sie existieren nicht mehr, die meisten von ihnen sind im 20. Jh. geschwunden. Unsere Schüler haben das ehemalige Ernest Polier- und Schleifwerk nahe des Dorfes Stará Knížecí Huť besucht. Dieses Werk, wo das Glas bearbeitet wurde, hat nach 1840 Ernest Malowetz gegründet. Es war lange Zeit im Wald "begraben", aber im Jahre 2013 hat es unser Lokalhistoriker Zdeněk Procházka gefunden. Unsere Schüler konnten es besichtigen - nicht nur den oberen Teil, sondern auch die unterirdischen Räume. Es war sehr interessant.

V 18. – 19. stol. existovala v našem okrese řada průmyslových podniků, které zpracovávaly sklo, železo, dřevo a perleť. Dnes už neexistují, většina z nich zanikla ve 20. stol. Naši žáci navštívili bývalou Arnoštovu leštírnu nedaleko obce Stará Knížecí Huť. Tento závod, kde se zpracovávalo sklo, založil po roce 1840 Arnošt Malovec, majitel panství Zahájí. Leštírna byla dlouhá léta „pohřbena“ v lese, ale v roce 2013 ji objevil regionální historik Zdeněk Procházka. Naši žáci měli možnost prohlédnout si nejen nadzemní část bývalé továrny, ale i její podzemí, kde se nacházela strojovna. Bylo to velmi zajímavé.

These are the rests of the former industrial place called Frauenthal near Přimda - the stone bridge and the ruin of the blast furnace where originally iron (since the 18th century) and later glass were processed.

Hier sind die Reste der ehemaligen industriellen Ortschaft Frauenthal nahe Přimda - die steinerne Brücke und die Ruine des Hochofens, wo ursprünglich das Eisen und später das Glas erzeugt wurden.

Zde jsou pozůstatky někdejší průmyslové osady Frauenthal, která se nacházela nedaleko Přimdy – kamenný most a zbytky vysoké pece, kde se původně zpracovávala železná ruda a později sklo.
