We build the maypole and burn the witches on the 30th April. It's an old festival which tradition comes from the Celtic festival called Beltane.

Wir bauen den Maibaum und brennen die Hexen am 30. April. Es ist ein alter Festtag, der aus der Keltischen Tradition kommt (es wurde Beltane oder Beltaine genannt).

30. dubna stavíme májku a pálíme čarodějnice. Jedná se o starý svátek, který má kořeny až v keltské tradici (nazýval se Beltain či Beltine).

Mesiac máj je spojený so stavaním tzv. májky, ktorú za sprievodu hudby, spevu a tanca pripravili naši žiaci deviateho ročníka. Strom, ktorý je zdobený farebnými stuhami až do letných dní krášli okolie našej školy a pripomína starodávnu tradíciu spojenú s uctievaním príchodom teplých dní.

The month of May is linked to the so called “maypole”, which was made by our pupils of the ninth grade to the accompaniment of music, singing and dancing. The tree is decorated with colourful ribbons and until the summer days makes the school area more beautiful and also reminds the ancient tradition of worshipping the arrival of warm days.
