Books worth reading

We chose the book” Harry Potter” by J.K. Rowling, because this is the story that everyone knows, but not everybody because of the amazing book. There are reasons for not reading this series, for example, someone has already seen the movies, or they think that, this is a children’s book. but we think this isn’t true. The Harry Potter series can be very satisfying for adults too. A lot of people won’t read it, because they are sick and tired of hearing about these books.
We definitely think that the Harry Potter series isn’t just for children. The first volume,” Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” is for them, and maybe the second one as well,” The Chamber of Secrets”. Both of them are compelling and leave the adult reader wanting to know more. The other five books are darker, and they are rather for adults. The fact that children read them is a testament to children’s ability to appreciate literature.
As for the movies, they’re very good. Faithful to the books. And it is fun to watch the young actors grow up faithful to their characters over the seven years covered by the series. But if you like to read, immersing yourself in these engrossing books can be addictive.
Of course the movie is based on the book, which is deficient. The director left a lot of shorter stories out, because he didn’t want to create a too long movie. If you haven’t read the books, you will like the films, but if you have already read the books, you will miss these little things. For example, the little conversations, which help to imagine this incredible, magical world. From the book you can get to know the characters better too, their feelings, thoughts, and I think because of these amazing, little things is the book so avowed and popular.
We think, everyone has to read this series. We know that almost everybody knows it, but the books will add a lot to the value of the story.
And this series is not ’just’ about magic, the story is set in a parallel magical world, but magic is just a tool for wizards and witches; something to be harnessed and used just as technology is in the non-magical world. That is why the wizarding world has so many 17th-century trappings; it has no need for the technology that shapes so much of our world. Although the wizards hide themselves from us, the two worlds are not really separate and they have much in common. Such as politics and bigotry. And kids are kids, magical or not, and growing up can be difficult and dangerous in either world.
So this series helps to learn a lot about friendships, conflicts, by and large of the life. They help you grow up in this modern world.
We think” Harry Potter” is the book that is worth reading.
Dear Zsuzsanna and Anna, It's great that you chose to write your article about Harry Potter. Lately, I've noticed that a lot of people don't want to have anything to do with Harry Potter, mainly because they think that the books are for children or that they are overhyped, without having read them. I think you said everything that needed to be said: Harry Potter is not only a book series for children - it's a door to a magical world, a world that both adults and children will love. Because there is currently a lot of controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling, people no longer want to be associated with these books. I don't think that's fair, as the books are still as good as they were a few years ago, and the author and the books shouldn't be viewed as one and the same. You also made a great point while talking about the films: They are amazing, but they lack those little conversations that make the story feel so real. In my opinion, they also didn't do justice to all of the characters. Some of them didn't act like they did in the book, for example Ginny Weasley and Kreacher (and Albus Dumbledore on several occasions).

Hi!
I can only agree with you! The Harry Potter books (and later the films) were and still are an important part of my life. As every book creates an atmosphere, the Harry Potter book’s one is very special to me. I always wanted to go to Hogwarts, in fact there were times where I rather would learn everything about the magical world of Hermione, Harry and Ron than studding “normal” Maths, Geography, etc. I truly admire J. K. Rowling for creating a world I was absolutely absorbed in! When I was younger I spent a lot of time trying to be part of this world with building my own wand, buying extra books which have at least something to do with the Harry Potter world, watching the films, etc. But at some point, I (metaphorically) put the books into the shelves and they became a beautiful, amazing but also a little bit sad childhood memory (sad because the letter from Hogwarts never came). You cannot believe how happy I was when we discovered a Harry Potter café in Krakow! We drank butter beer and (I can only speak for myself but I think the others felt the same) wallowed in memories! To conclude, I would say the Harry Potter world is a part of myself which I would never want to miss. Therefore, if you never have explored this world (I heard there are some people out there who didn’t) I truly suggest to start reading; it won’t be a mistake, I promise!

Dear Zsuzsi and Anna,
I agree with your statement that suggests to read the Harry Potter series. In my opinion everybody has to read it at least once, because you can learn a lot about yourself to. We can 'see' these kids growing up, and going through a lot of trouble. Reading is more compelling than just watching the films. You have to use your imagination while reading this series, so it develops your imagination. In the other hand watching the series is more relaxing, and take less time than reading. Although you could see it like the director. So you see it in one person’s view, and you may not agree with that. Somebody can understand the story visually than reading it. So I suggest to know the Harry Potter story. If you just watch it that’s okay. Maybe you want to know it a little more. Reading deepens the character, and the story too. I prefer reading it because I’m that kind of person who likes to read rather than watching it.
