SUPERFOODS IN MATHS

  • MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM WITH PLUMS

In the autumn I got a basket full of plums.
We ate them raw (yummy!), we had them in fruit dumplings (delicious!)
and we also dried them in a drier.
We took a lot of photos and you can get a lot of information if you look at them carefully.
On the scale there is always the same number of plums.
So can you count and tell us:

    a) How much does one plum stone weigh?

    b) To how many per cent got the weight reduced when they were dried?

We have found a website with a lot of interesting mathematical problems - it even has an English version. :-) We have copied a few problems that include superfoods and we would like to share them with you. Maybe they will be welcome in a math class.
