Impressions by the Croatian team

  •

Four teachers from Croatia took part in our last meeting: Branka Lamza, Snježana Odak Hrkač, Nives Horvat and Dunja Mikulaj. In the same time we were happy to visit Poland, as well as sad because of the fact it was our last meeting.

It meant very much to us – having had a chance to mark the EU Day with our partners. For this occasion we prepared videos of traditional songs and dances of our home region – Međimurje. We enjoyed watching videos by other countries, being able to compare different traditions. The host school prepared many activities for us. One of them was a quiz about Europe for Polish students and teachers from all countries.

We also had the honour to be welcomed in The Town Hall by the Mayor of Legnica, Mr Tadeusz Krzakowski. It was very interesting to find out about the town's history, education, industry and other important topics. A visit to Wroclaw was an occasion to learn about the rich history of this city, known as the EU Capital of Culture in 2016. We especially enjoyed our visit to Hydropolis, a science centre about water, as well as our visit to The White Stork Synagogue, a religious and cultural centre of the local Jewish community.

We learnt very much about Poland during our stay, but, most of all, we learnt about the people's hospitality. Thank you Ewa, Tomasz, Sebastian, Beata, and the whole Polish team for everything you've done to make us feel at home – we definitely did and we can't wait to come to Poland again.
