The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of on the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
To mark the Day, on the 3th of December 2017, we have hosted in our school Civil enginerer, mr. Kyriakos Tsioupanis. Mr. Tsioupanis has an artificial leg because of an accident during serving the army.He was invited to our school to talk about the inner strength he had that ebabled him to study abroad and overcome every difficulty he had to face.
Following the event (that took place on the 3th of December), in the coming few days the students were taught issues related to diversity and had produced different kinds of creative assignments and activities. In particular the first-class children did acrobats for the word RESPECT. They wanted to give the message that people with disabilities need respect not pity.
