We arrived to Oulu on Sunday the 29th October. First day in  Ritaharju School was  Monday 30^th October.

 

• Day 1: Sunday 29th October

  Travel day: from Madrid to Oulu. Exausted after 5 hours flying to Oulu (with stop in Helsinki)

• Day 2: Monday 30thOctober

  Ritaharju School. We met our coordinator in the project. Her name is Marika Kerola. She explained us our timetable during those days and the supernova" teachers, those who were going to work with us during the job shadowing period.

• Day 3: Tuesday 31st October

  Ritaharju School. I was in the 4th level Englsh class. I saw the materials and resources they have and the low number of students, due to the fact of a unfold class (one group work with the English teacher and the other one with their tutor in another subject).

• Day 4: Wednesday, 1st November

  Visit to the Teacher Training University in Oulu. They explained us how students prepare to become a teacher in the country. They do the teaching practices in the same building (the University has a primary school attached to it).  They explained that the educative system in Finland and their theory about open teaching-spaces.

• Day 5: Thursday, 2^nd November

           Ritaharju School. Music class. The pupils have almost all instruments (including a piano!), and the tutors can play most of them, so, they                      work with them in any subjects and celebrations ( in this case, they were playing a Halloween song).

• Day  6:  Friday 3rd  November

           Ritaharju School. Visit to the robotic class with the 9th level pupils. They were making their own robots with lego pieces.

• Day 7: Saturday 4thNovember and Day8: Sunday 5^th November

          Cultural Activity: Weekend in SANTA CALUS HOLIDAY VILLAGE.

          Wonderful weekend, watching beautiful landscapes and the aurora boreali...simply....amazing!!

• Day 9 : Monday 6th Nomvember

  Ritaharju School. Visit to the other school building, 2kms far from the main one. Both schools are big and also very well equiped.

• Day 10: Tuesday 7th November

  Ritaharju School. Workshops classes. I attended a cooking and  a sewing workshop. I was really impressed to see how the pupils use their sewing machines!.

• Day 11: Wednesday, 8th November

  Ritaharju School. Language, Maths and Reading class with the tutors. They follow a reading project during the whole school year.

• Day 12: Thursday. 9th November

  Ritaharju School. English class in the 6th level. As I said before, I think it´s a privileged  to work with that low number of pupils in the class.

  Day 13: Friday, 10th Novembre

• Ritaharju School. 7th level pupils prepared a meal for the Spanish teachers, during their cooking class. They made different kind of cakes and prepared a proper table for the occasion.

   

• Day 14 : Saturday 11th November

  . Cultural Activity: Visit to Oulu main places; market, beach, parks, river.. Ride on bike to visit all these places for the last time...

• Day 15th : Sunday 12th November-

  Travel from Oulu to Madrid. End of this fantastic experience!!
