Agia Varvara, Cyprus

Agia Varvara  Gymnasium is a public  high school in the suburbs of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus . The school hosts  365 students aged between 12-15. 1/3 of our students live in the area of Agia Varvara Village and  2/3 are from  the nearby villages. 

52 teachers work at this school. The majority of teachers work full-time and the others are part timers, working in other schools in Nicosia area. 

All students are taught a variety of obligatory subjects  such as Greek, English, French, Maths, Physics, Computers, Gymnastics, History, Biology, Technology, Music, Art, Ancient Greek. and Home Economy. 

Our school always tries to innovate in Information and Communication Technologies.  It is one of the basic goals to teach teachers &, students valuable knowledge and skills around computing and communication devices, the software that operates them, applications that run on them and systems that are built with them. With this project we would like to foster Information and communication techniques in our daily life activities. We have some experience in this area although we would like to get more expertise.
