P 31. PREPARATION OF C5 SHORT- TERM VIRTUAL MOBILITY (C1 NOT DONE F0RCE MAJEURE)

  • We started the preparation of C5 virtual mobility.

First we have to explain that there were new students who incorporated to it.

This mobility  was supposed to take place in May 2020 but due to coronavirus, we changed by a virtual one in March 2021. For this reason, the Erasmus group of Katerini went to study to another school and they participated in a Skype one the afternoon with our Erasmus group.

The rest of the days new students from Katerini joined and in Elexalde there were also newcomers .

This opened the project to more students and built more links between students from both schools.

We started with a meeting for volunteers from 2dbh, 3dbh and 4dbh to prepare the mobility in the breaks.

We gave students in both schools some questionnaries of their likes, preferences to match students in both schools and one we had the group formed we started the preparation

The first one was the Teambuilding  icebreaking games. We created a kahoot to guess who is who with pictures from students from both schools  when they were 1 year old and a current one.

We just danced following a video.

The volunteers who incorporated to the project  organised a virtual tour around the school and town, so each one had a presentation. We recorded a video and a 360 one to watch  the day of the virtual mobility.

One of the students was our chef and guided students from both schools to cook the best guilda.

Another activity was a workshop so students in both schools chose characters from Basque mythology and prepared some comic strips      beforehand to be ready for the comic workshoop.

    We used the application ComicStrip

Then Elexalde Erasmus group prepared a virtual tour around Bilbao to be watched in the mobility.

Elexalde Erasmus group also organised the Basque sports competion with all the C5 volunteers to take part.

In Katerini the competion was organised by P.E teacher.

Elexalde Erasmus group also created a video 24 hours with for Greek families to open  their homes and present their families in a virtual way.

Then all students expressed their feelings and impressions of the virtual mobility on a Padlet.

As the project had been extended, we had to form a new team, because most of the students of the old team did not belong to our school anymore. We opened it to the students from the first grade as well, with the prospect of them participating in the next years of sustainability of the project. We asked the new students to give us their profile for the new matching. Then, we introduced the new students to the project first by discussing with them the concept of the European idea behind it, the project itself, a few words about our partners and the Basque country and what hte virtual mobility would be like. We showed them the activities done until then. We had agreed with our Basque partners to focus on 3 unities of the project: sports, cuisine and mythology so we worked on them with the new team. We also had them learn everyday expressions and useful phrases in Basque. We prepared and played in class Kahoots about these unities. We practised the Basque sports. We had the students study the Basque recipes and mythology and then make a dish and create a video, as well as create a digital story with Basque mythological creatures. In this way we got them prepared for the virtual mobility.
