At the beginning of the second year of the project there was a meeting with the pedagogical team where the results of the activities of the first year were discussed and the objectives of the second year were reviewed. In this phase of the project the history and science teachers were involved. Three school trips were organised:

    - The first one was a visit to Mt. Olympus and the archaelogical site of Dion. In Olympus the students visited the Olympus National Park Information Centre, where they heard about the flora and the fauna of the mountain and they hiked through the forest. In Dion the students, who had been prepared beforehand by the Archaeology teacher, presented the history which lies behind the ruins.

    - The second trip was to ancient Pydna and the salt marshes in Alykes. The history and science teachers provided students with the relevant information and helped them understand by filling questionaires and answering their questions.

    - The third school trip was to Thessaloniki, where, with the aid of the language and history teahcers, the students came in contact with the Byzantine civilzation and monuments of the city.

All the above activities were of double importance, first to help the Greek students delve into their own civilization and secondly to make them young ambassadors to the Basque students who would visit our country later that year.
