Novi Marof is a town in the south of the Varazdin County, in north- west Croatia, just 60 km north of our capital, Zagreb. The town itself has about 2 000 inhabitants and the Novi Marof town area, which includes the town itself, as well as the surrounding villages, has about 13 000 inhabitants.
Novi Marof primary school is a public school, which follows the national curriculum. 804 pupils attend it. In addition, around 150 pupils attend the Music department, which is part of our school, but works as an independent department. We also have four dislocated school in nearby villages There are around 30 special needs pupils who are integrated into regular classes and 4 pupils who attend a partial integration class. There are around 90 teachers dedicated in developing our pupils' educational, social and moral qualities.
The school is among the largest schools in the country, recently completely renovated and equipped with new equipment. The school is fully adapted to the contemporary needs of children for work and learning and has thus become one of the most modern schools in the country.
We have highly motivated students and teachers, therefore our students achieve above average results, and top results on national competitions especially from maths, IT, geography and sports.
We have a long-standing tradition of one-day and multi-day excursions with outdoor teaching that takes place once in the school year. The excursions are thematic and are related to the curriculum and are performed depending on the theme throughout the territory of Croatia (visits to national parks, cultural institutions, historic towns and buildings, nature parks, forests, the sea, mountains, etc..)
