Observation of plants in the immediate environment

    Topic:  Observation of plants in the immediate environment

    Short description: For a better fixation and consolidation of the knowledge taught, the students made observations on the plants in the school area under the supervision and guidance of the teacher.

    Impact on students-appreciation of the importance of all plant species as part of everyone's life.

    Time: 60 minutes

    Learning objectives:

    These observations followed:

    • identification of gymnosperm species from the nearby environment: fir, spruce, thuja.
    • identification of angiosperm species from the nearby environment:
    • trees: birch, lime, acacia, cherry;
    • shrubs: jasmine, maces;
    • food plants: beans, onions;
    • ornamental plants: rose;
    • analysis and comparison of gymnosperm and angiosperm leaves (observation of leaf shape and size in different species of gymnosperms and angiosperms).
    • formation of a behaviour of appreciation, protection and conservation of biodiversity;

    Process:

    - students` movement to the places of observation;

    - the actual observation of the plants;

    - all the observations made and the data collected by the students from the field were written on a notebook, in a comparative table.
