As part of the international Erasmus + project "SOFT", the international project team organized on March 26, 2021. International geography competition for students from six schools of the project member countries (Croatia, Finland, Lithuania, Greece, Romania, and Portugal)

The project is based on new forms of teaching and learning with the help of new technology and applications. The geography competition in an international environment was organized in accordance with the project objectives using the Kahoot interactive application for playing quizzes and coordinating quiz activities via the Zoom communication platform.

The international competition was preceded by school competitions within six schools of the project member countries, where among the best students of individual schools and members of the SOFT project we received representatives in an international quiz attended by 24 best students from six schools in individual and team competitions.

In an interesting and tense competition, the team first place was won by students from Romania, the second place by students from Croatia, the third by students from Lithuania and followed by students from Greece, Finland and Portugal. Individually, the first two places were won by students from Romania, and the third place by a student from Croatia

The coordinators of the project “SOFT designed the concept of the competition. Students of individual schools under the guidance of geography teachers designed questions at the school level, and geography teachers designed questions at the international level. The preparation of students for the competition in each country took place under the guidance of the project coordinator and the geography teacher.

In the past year, international student exchanges have been postponed until the epidemiological situation improves, but with the application of new applications and technologies, efforts are still being made to implement international cooperation and student training and implement project activities in an interesting way for children in a virtual environment.
