    7TH GRADE

    Length: 2 lessons

     

    Aims:

     1. Master prepositions of movement and place.

    2. Learn specific glossary related to asking and giving directions.

    3. Apply into practice useful vocabulary.

    3. Introduce your way to school through the dialogues (presentations done with the help of different electronic devices: mobiles, computers, using various apps, programs.)

     

    Impact on students

    • Learn specific glossary related to asking and giving directions.
    • Observe, analyse the google maps app for finding their way to school.
    • Learn to read maps.
    • Use their smartphones for recording the route.
    • Practice communicative skills by creating dialogues
    • Master personal and cognitive skills, booster self- esteem, practice public speaking, pronunciation, articulation.

     

    Lesson 1

    The teacher explains the aims for the lesson, methods , activities and homework.

    Students :

    1. revise prepositions of place and movement through the pictures in their textbooks
    2.  study the map on the smartboard and do listening activities: find the right spot in town.
    3. Students practice prepositions working in pairs – making short dialogues How can I get to….
    4. Game: Find the place in your school: the students are given lists with instructions to find the destination (pair work) For the students who lag behind the map exercise Find the shortest route from point A to point B on the map. Write prepositions you may use.
    5. Aanalysis of the game how the students succeeded.
    6. The teacher explains how to use google map app. The students have to follow the given route to go home.
    7. For the next lesson students have to record their (the main things: name of the street, zebra crossing, pavement, etc.)
    8. To cover and revise the lesson’s material students have to write in 1 min the words they have learnt about giving/asking directions.

    Impact

    • Students use the vocabulary in dialogues and practise speaking skills
    • Learn about classmates‘ routes
    • Listen and get involved in evaluation

     

    The teacher introduces aims and the tasks for the lesson.

    Making random pairs for dialogues: the cards with prepositions/who gets the same –make a pair.

    The students are introduced to the evaluation criteria which is switched on the board.

    Students work together preparing the dialogue about the route to school.Use the phrases from the previous lessons, decide how to arrange the material.

    Students act out the dialogues.Everybody listens and evaluates the pair work due to the given criteria : fluency, range of active vocabulary, interaction, pronunciation, grammar.
