    Small description of the activity / Impact on students

     The moliceiro boat ride in the Ria de Aveiro allows to know the city of Aveiro from the 4 urban channels of Aveiro. The experience of sailing a traditional boat in Aveiro and being able to enjoy the view of the city is a unique experience. 

    In the visit to the salt pans of Aveiro, it is intended to approach an adaptation of a traditional salt navy for the teaching of salt crystallization and all the elements associated with the process, through a pedestrian tour through the interior of Salina, passing through the different zones, approaching to flora and surrounding avifauna.

    At the Science Factory, students had the opportunity to experience several  activities in this Center of Living Science, where they had the opportunity to observe various equipments and technology, and even built a robot by their own.

     

    - Contribute to the preservation of coastal systems

     - Encouraging the active participation of citizens in the defense of the environmental quality of the coast

     - Promoting Environmental Education in schools

    - Preventing the degradation of coastal áreas

     - Preventing the continuation of factors that lead to degradation

    - Ensure that the necessary measures will be taken for the recovery of amended areas.   Process: - Invitation by CML (Municipality of Leiria) to support the project; - Registration on the Coastwatch Portugal Geota website; - Consultation of the tides on the IPMA website; - Confirmation with CML regarding the date and number of students; - Request for authorizations from parents; - Making the list of participants; Visit.

     

     

    - Assegurar que serão tomadas as medidas necessárias para a recuperação de zonas alteradas.

     

    Processo:

    - Convite por parte da CML (Câmara Municipal de Leiria) para adesão ao projeto;

    - Inscrição no site Coastwatch Portugal Geota;

    - Consulta das marés no site do IPMA;

    - Confirmação com a CML relativamente à data e n.º de alunos;

    - Pedido de autorizações aos Encarregados de Educação;

    - Realização da listagem dos participantes;

    - Visita.
