Transnational Project Meeting in Czechia, March 2019

The purpose of the meeting was to present all the work that we had been preparing for co-operation with other project countries. The meeting included two job shadowing days, Monday and Friday, where the participants were able to get acquainted with Czech curricula, learning, and teaching methods (Project-based learning and pupils’ participation, Constructivist methodology of teaching Maths created by professor Hejny, an innovative method of teaching reading called Sfumato, logopedic special classes, bilingual classes, inclusion) used in Kosmonautů 15 School. We shared our expertise with all the teachers in this project. These days were optional but our project teachers were extremely motivated to observe our work, discuss our methods, and participate in our school's actions. It was useful to a great degree to share, co-operate, and discuss the variety of methods and pedagogical strategies with all the teachers.
We organized art-related workshops for our pupils from bilingual classes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also, other teachers were invited to join and organize Art related workshops for their pupils. On those days, the project teachers were able to share their knowledge, expertise, and cultural specialties with our pupils. On Thursday, we organized a Concert for our staff, teachers, and parents to present our work. We had contacted the local media about this event and notified our local government. Czech pupils performed modern dances from the Czech Republic and traditional Polish dances, pupils learned about Italian and Spanish art history and painted wonderful pieces of art which were displayed at the concert event, pupils learned to play music in newly created school orchestra lead by Italian teachers, almost all groups sang songs in various languages (English, Finish, Spanish, Czech, etc.). Croatian teachers prepared a dance performance from their mythology with their group. In workshops, pupils learnt how to program a robot with a Polish teacher and how to code with a Finish teacher. Older pupils had also a chance to learn about Finland.

This Project Meeting was a great Arts holiday in general. It involved most of our staff, teachers, and pupils and their parents. However, it was also much more. To share pedagogical views, cultural features, expertise, and knowledge with these teachers is a great experience. The effect on our pupils was immense. They communicated in English and art. The participants experienced in reality what it means to share European values, they used Art as a way to communicate and share.

The project coordinators planned and agreed on the details about Benetússer LTTA  Pupils Visit in May 2019 and Romania Teachers Meeting in September 2019. Teachers will prepare 7 workshops and outcome for the concert in Spain. Topics for the workshops should be about Art and technologies and Art and globalization.

The outcomes of the project cooperative task "Photography competition" from each project country were displayed in school during the project meeting and at the concert for parents. They were also presented to the public during the Open Door Day at the end of March. Outcomes from the cooperative painting task were shared on Google Drive and our school painted pictures from more countries, for example, Spain where 3 our teachers were job shadowing in September.
