Peace day - 30 January

  • project Facebook

    Who was Mahatma Gandhi?

Why do we commemorate his death?

On 30 January is International Peace Day. It’s important for every teacher in the world to teach these moral values to our pupils and to remember the people who fought peacefully because world peace will one day be a reality and not a utopia.
We want to show this work to you too because children who grow up with these values will be the adults who get it in the future.

Here are posters from our Spanish coordinator from 2017 and 2018 which can be used as inspiration:

    PEACE DAY 2019

This year’s motto is UNIVERSAL PEACE SYMBOL. Enjoy our peace art!!!!

Italian pupils created the posters below.

Rumanian pupils also celebrated the International Peace Day.

In January 2019, Czech pupils from class 6. B studied international peace symbols, which prepared our Spanish coordinator. First, they heard some basic information, next, they listened to the peace song Knocking on Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan. Finally, pupils worked in groups and each team was translating information about one chosen symbol, they were working with Czech-English dictionaries. In the second lesson, pupils finished translating, they worked with laptops and used Google translator. Next, each team presented the meaning of peace symbol to the class and drew it on the peace flag. Finally, each team used a painting program to make their own peace flag.

In January 2018, Czech pupils from class 6. B made research of this day, they studied prepared materials, sang peace songs (Imagine from John Lennon and How many ways from Bob Dylan), and painted peace leaflets prepared by our Spanish teachers. You can see our team and their noticeboard.

The outcomes of Peace Day 2018 were presented on the noticeboard to the participants of the LTTA 1 in May.
