Swedish team, reflections

  • Reflections from the Swedish team.

    • Nice to meet the forest carers, the guy in the forest, and great to have them to educate the kids as well. It was really nice to hear about their work with the pupils.

    • It was so great to see the work you do in the school forrest, we are so impressed that you can build things little by little for each time you visit the forest. It would be fantastic to have the permission to build such a place in the forest.

    • Happy to see the library so alive and used by the locals. We would like to have that sort of activity wall as we saw there.

    • We would like to have something similar to the Latvian dance and music in Sweden. The culture dancing and singing is not that alive in our region (around big cities?). Probably more in the countryside and up north.

    • We really like the way you have lessons in bamba (Bamba is the lunch hall in swedish) when you don't eat there. This opened up our eyes, we are thinking about reclaiming our bamba. The kitchen staff does not really want us and kids to be around when it's not lunch.  And in the afternoon we saw kids playing with lego in the bamba, can we use our bamba more?

    • It was really clear with your areas for responsibility, it shows that you have rights as well as responsibility. Like the photos in the classroom were the kids have responsibility for watering the plants or the whiteboard etc. Its good for the pupils to take care of their own classroom and thereby hopefully is more careful with it.

    • It's a good idea to use pictures to talk from when you do your reflections. It surely develops the language and the children get used to talking in front of others and think out of the box.

    • We were reminded of the benefits of growing your own plants and vegetables.

    • The music lesson was really inspiring. Perhaps we will be able to build some instruments on our own and use for our classes.
