  • Other Seminars and Lectures

In the past two years our students have attended a lot of seminars touching the topic of social inclusion.

Firstly, we attended a seminar conducted by a journalist and humanitarian worker Markéta Kutilová whose field concerns the rights of women and gender equality.

Secondly, we attended a lecture given by an ambassador and security analyst Tomáš Pojar. His lecture discussed the public security in the current globalized world.

Furthermore, our students attended two events dealing with prejudice, racism and human rights. The first one was a workshop called "Fighting Prejudice" where students discussed issues such as religious tolerance, listened to stories of people who decided to step out of their comfort zones and refused to be further exploited and suppressed. The second one was "Letter Marathon" in which students participated in writing letters calling for justice for those who have been unjustly imprisoned. This event is directed by the international organization Amensty International.

Dealing with migration itself, two members of the ARPOK organization from Olomouc gave a lecture called "The World Moving". We had a chance to discuss the causes as well as the consequences of migration. The biggest advantage was that we had the opprotunity to hear both arguments for and against migration

Last but not least, our students participated in the event to commemorate the victims of holocaust. Students were asked to plant Crocuses which serve as a symbol of the yellow Jewish star the Jews were coercived to wear during the World War II.Not only were our students presented with the issues many Jewish people had deal with but it also touched the topic of migration since Jewish people were often forced to migrate as well.
