Case Study 2.1

  • CASE STUDY 2: Khaled

    Conclusion

After studying this specific case, we came to the conclusion that his expectations weren’t met as he wanted to earn enough money to reunite his family and live all together in Spain. He’s 23 and that’s a good beginning because with that age you can start working legally and start earning money. We think that if he stays a couple of years more in Spain and continues  earning money, he will be able to pay at least one fight to take one of his family members to Spain. Talking about his legal status in Spain, as we can see he has been working illegally for a year in a construction company. He is from Afghanistan, a country that nowadays isn’t in conflict. Spanish government says that if you arrive illegally to Spain but you are a war refugee you have the right to stay, but the problem comes when you arrive illegally to Spain and you aren’t a war refugee. In that case, you need to have the Spanish residence (live and work in Spain legally). Otherwise,  if police catch you, you will be deported to your country.
