I Wish I Could Part the Seas
Since one of the outcomes of the project should be a song, we decided to write one ourselves. Students as well as teachers participated on both the music and lyrics to somehow describe the situation and feelings of migrants. Music, being the greatest art form there is, unites people and unity is a vital thing in the globalized world that we happen to live in.
LYRICS:
I wish I could part the seas
Lingering fear, uncertainty
Heading towards great unknown accompanied by memories
Guided only by the flares
Constellations we call tragedies
Caught in the current of expectations slowly becoming casualities
Is there a place where I could find someone
and a shelter to share
Is there a reason why I'm down on my luck
there is no way I can keep pace
In the link below, you can listen to the first acoustic draft of the song that was later transformed in to the final version that is now part of the documentary In Their Shoes.

What is more, during the 4th mobility meeting in the Czech Republic, we were rehearsing the song so that all the students participating in the project could sing it together.
