    Guided tour in Ostrava

Our meeting point was at the gates of the Silesian Ostrava Castle. Students of Gymnazium Hladnov told us something about the history of the castle and some basic information about Ostrava. Afterwards we continued with our tour to the Miloš Sýkora bridge and we also stopped by John Amos Comenius park. Our next stops were the New Town Hall, Masaryk´s Square and Saint Wenceslavs church. We finished our tour with a performance by Hladnov´s English Drama Club with a play called "Dance with Fates" written by Christopher Eddins.

    Bank Of Time Activities Presentations

After the break for lunch, we went to school to do our presentations. Each person from Czech group talked about one activity we have already accomplished in our project. We did not forget to mention that our project appeared in newspaper or a competition called "Prezentiáda", where each couple had a presentation on a given topic, our topic was obviously migration.

Czech headmaster Daniel Kašička gave a speech to welcome foreign students. He mentioned partnership between our schools (Italian, Spanish, Swedish and Czech), also he wished our partners satisfying stay in the Czech Republic. Then he personally guided our guests through the school and showed them every part of our school.

Italian students spoke about some activities they have been doing since January in order to help people with different difficulties and to favour their inclusion: at Caritas they helped volounteers dealing with datas, in some schools they teach english to children (we do the same at Piazza solidale), in our parish youth club they help youngesters with their homework and in duomo museum they help people with difficulties.

During the Spanish presentation we were shown the Spanish bank of time activities. The bank of time is the bank in which they put the time they spend helping people in need or associations that do it. They had: Money raising campaign, Euro marathon, Solidarity workshop, Science Therapy... They enjoyed a lot to do this Bank of Time and to help people in order to see a change in their lifes.

Swedish students had a presentation where they spoke about our activities that they have been doing since 2017. They were divided to three different group and therefore spoke about three different projects, one of them being a small book alike thing thats supposed to help newcommers with understanding basic knowledge about Sweden. Second group had a different activites and quizes that made Sweds and newcommers become friends and the last group helps newcommers with studying and getting new friends by getting them a Swedish mentor.
