With the 5th grade students we have carried out a workshop on access to the eTwinning platform. The pupils have learned how to intervene in the forum and comment on a question.

WORKSHOP ABOUT TECHNOADDICTIONS

SPEAKER: LUIS GUERRERO PECERO (AFAVAL)

Workshop given by AFAVAL, a non-profit association formed by a group of parents whose mission is to develop actions and programmes that actively contribute to the direct support of families with underage consumers.

This workshop was received by our cybermentor students. This talk is their starting point for the research work they are going to carry out during the current academic year.

Below is a summary of the topics covered and a video of the session.

• Techno-addictions are a disproportionate use of technologies. When we use them too much, we become slaves to technologies and they control our lives. The mobile phone cannot replace important actions such as a meeting with friends.
• Technologies are mainly present in the Internet, mobile phones and video games.
• Warning signs: Increased hours online; denial of excessive use; deterioration of health; interference in daily life; decreased academic performance; withdrawal syndrome (nervousness about taking the device away).
• When is it a concern? Risk of isolation; loss of sense of time; may provide incomplete, inaccurate and/or false information; tendency to consumerism, desire to be always up to date; poor security (easy theft of passwords and personal data, identity theft).
• The magic lies within ourselves. We have to be responsible for making good use of technologies. 

Story: A fisherman found a copper bottle with a copper stopper among his nets. It looked very old. When he opened it, a marvellous genie suddenly came out and, once released, said to the fisherman: "I grant you three wishes for having brought me out of my confinement:

- I grant you three wishes for having brought me out of my confinement. What is your first wish?

- I want you to make me an intelligent person!

- Done," said the genie, "and now, what are your other two wishes?

The fisherman pondered a little and said:

- Thank you very much, I don't want any more wishes.

During the session the pupils carried out the following activities:

• Activity 1: In groups, think about the common advantages and disadvantages of the following technological devices: Internet, mobile phone and video games.

HUNGARY

One of our main goals for participating in Erasmus+ projects is to widen our school's European collaboration. We find it very important to involve as many teachers in these international projects, but have to face the lackage of English language skills among our teachers. Thanks to this project, we could offer free lessons of English for our colleagues who wanted to approve their language and communication skills in English (25 students in 3 groups). Their teachers were:

- Orsolya Szenek (for beginners)

- Gabriella Bartháné Hell (A2 level)

- Mariann Reisz (B2 level)

ITALY

The students of the fifth grade of Primary School and of the Third Grade of Secondary School partecipated in a workshop on web risks and network security.

We talked, worked and learned on how to protect our data when surfing the web.
