    Jaroslav Foglar: Hoši od Bobří řeky

    It is a book about a group of 12 boys and their leader Rikitan. The boys learn, do sport and camp together. They hunt "beavers" - they fulfill 13 different tasks. In summer, they camp near the Beavers' River.

    It is the sequel to the novel Hoši od Bobří řeky. The story of the boys is situated to the hard time of the Second World War.

    Nad Niemnem

    Nad Niemnem is a Positivist novel written by Eliza Orzeszkowa in 1888 during the foreign Partitions of Poland. Its main purpose was to present the Polish society and its own internal dynamics as they were in mid–19th century, in reference to the Polish January Uprising against the Russian occupation.

    Balladyna

    Balladyna is a tragedy written by Juliusz Słowacki in 1834 and published in 1839 in Paris. It is a notable work of Polish romanticism, focusing on the issues such as thirst for power and evolution of the criminal mind. The story revolves around the rise and fall of Balladyna, a fictional Slavic queen. The story took place near Gopło. Gopło is the lake near Kruszwica.

At this time, the country of Poland did not exist; since the partitions of the late eighteenth century its territory had been carved up by Russia, Prussia, and Austria.     Jožo Nižnánsky: Studňa lásky

    A legendary story about the well at Trenčín castle. It was carved in the hard rock by the Turks at the behest of the merchant Omar, loved by the beautiful Turkish prisoner of Fatima. The master of the castle did not want to let her go and therefore he gave them a seemingly impossible condition: he would releaseher if he cuts a well into the Trenčín rock. And Omar succeeded. Love won.

    Janko Kráľ: Zakliata panna vo Váhu a Divný Janko

    A romantic ballad (with tragic end) of Janko Kráľ, first published in the almanac Nitra in 1844. It is one of the most famous ballads in Slovak literature and one of the aesthetically valuable Kráľ works.

In order to get rid of an inappropriate successor, he sends him into the world for an impossible task. He's supposed to find and bring three golden hair of Vratko.
