World Water Day
We celebrate International World Water Day every year on 22 March. We talk about the importance of freshwater and freshwater resources.
The idea of an international day to celebrate freshwater was first mentioned in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development. The United Nations General Assembly signed a document and 22 March 1993 became the first World Water Day.
States can celebrate the Day by activities to promote public awareness through the production of documentaries, conferences, round tables, seminars and different expositions and implement the recommendations of Agenda 21.
World Water Day is an opportunity to learn more about water related issues, be motivated to tell others and take action to make a difference.
In our project, we also want to contribute to this idea, to show the others that we care about water around us.
