Learning activity in Přimda took place since 10th to 14th June 2019

This is our game that we played during the learning activity:

In the natural reserve Bohemian Forest, where Přimda is located, there live many species of protected animals.  One of the most interesting is our biggest rodent – Eurasian beaver – and it will be your guide for the whole time of our meeting.

Hello, my friends!

Welcome in Přimda. My name is Přimdoslav and I am a beaver. I really like nature and water, like you do. I am lumberjack and builder. I use my strong teeth to cut the trees. I eat thin branches, I build my home and dams from the thick branches and stones. I settled there, because I really like Bohemian Forest and because I really like children, I prepared few tasks for you, which you’ll complete throughout the week. According to how well you do, you'll get the points for the tasks you complete. On Friday your points will be counted – then according to your success rate in my game - you will be sent to look for the hidden treasure. Have fun and good luck!

1. My first task is very simple. You already know me, I introduced myself. But, unfortunately, I don’t know anything about you. I would like you to introduce yourself – to tell me your name and what your hobbies are. And because I want to know to which group you belong, decorate the notice boards behind your tables and don't forget to add the symbol of your group. 
2. My second task is: discover Přimda. You’ll need your smartphones, pencil and paper. Your Action bound starts and ends here. You’ll find the next tasks in the town and its neighbourhood. I will assess your speed and correctness of your completed tasks. The game will start with loading of QR code into your smartphones. Good luck!
3. The nature around us consists of different ecosystems. Your third task is to create a model of your drawn ecosystem. Please, I want the representative of each group to come to me and to draw the ecosystem.
4.  Once, the West Bohemia was unstable – at tertiary, there were volcanoes, but today they are extinct. Nearby Františkovy Lázně, there’s the SOOS reservation, where you can see so called mud volcanoes – mofettas. Each group will get the tasks from me, which you will complete throughout our walk in SOOS.
5. Mariánské Lázně is one of the West Bohemian spa towns. Besides the walk through the city a visitation of the park Boheminium awaits you. You’ll discover the famous Bohemian sights. And so you won’t just run through the park, again, I have tasks for you – come for them.
6. As I mentioned, I am not just a lumberjack, I am a builder too. And what about you? Do you manage to complete my tasks? The envelopes with the instructions are waiting for you. (The task: each group with create a water mill and one vessel.)
7. In my free time, I like to read, I like stories about water. I prepared some for you. The stories are nice, but they lack beautiful pictures. Draw them for me!
8. As I see, you are good builders. But only the praxis will tell us if you did your work well. Now, we are going to the places of extinct settlement called Mílov, where four mills used to work in the past and where you’ll be able to try out your mills and vessels. Mílov is my home and I want to show it to you. A surprise will await you on the way.
9. I will test you now. Can you manage to make a fire in nature safely? I've prepared a little box for each group. Put some twigs and other flammable material, which you’ll use for your fire, in it. Be careful, each group will receive only three matches. Who will be able to make the fire with only one match? For every unused match you'll get an additional point. And whose fire will be afire as long as possible?
10. For today, we'll to go to the zoo in Pilsen, where you will learn something new about Bohemian rivers. This time, you'll receive the points for active work in the programme Bohemian river.
11. In the afternoon we will visit the Techmania Science Centre. One part of it is dedicated to water.  Look properly at the exposition and answer my questions.
12. As I told you, I really like water and I am sure you do as well. That’s why I am going to invite you to the swimming pool in Přimda, where I prepared some games for you.
13. Not only our meeting, but the whole project WATER is going to its end. I am not sure what do you think, but I really enjoyed it, you were great. But I don’t know anything of the rest of your project. And because I am very curious I would like you to inform me what did you experience during the whole project and what did you learn. Please, create posters that will inform me about your project activities.

Dear friends,

you were working really hard the whole week and I was observing you. It is the last day of your meeting today and you'll get my ast task now. I toted up all the points and you can start your treasure hunt now. As you know, I love water, so the treasure is hidden near it. The prominent landmark of Přimda is our castle, it is very old - it is the second oldest stone castle in the Czech Republic. And ruins like Přimda sometimes hide treasures. Go to the castle and look for the well on your way - don't forget that the treasure is hidden near water!
