Czech group visited the Techmania Science centre in Pilsen. We really enjoyed the experiments with water.

On the 4^th December 2018, we visited the Techmania Science Centre in Pilsen. At first, we went to the exposition called Under the Surface. In this exposition there was a simulation of the sinking Titanic, measuring the strength of water streams and countless more interesting experiments. The most fun – in our opinion – was the sinking Titanic. It was a giant room in the style of a sinking ship. Inside there was a flashing orange light indicating that something went wrong, you could also hear a faint siren in the background. When you get to the top you could leave the sinking ship using a slide or stairs.

Another interesting attraction was a long tube that should show you the strength of the pressure of the water, you should put your hand in the tube, (but before that you had to put away all your jewellery due to safety reasons) and press the button situated under it. After pressing it the water started rising, the preasure was higher. It was very interesting.

Then we went to another room where an exposition with different experiments with water was. We learnt about the water cycle, how a lock works and many other activities.

I think it’s safe to say that all of us enjoyed the trip.

4. prosince 2018 jsme navštívili Techmania Science Centre v Plzni. Nejprve jsme šli do expozice Pod hladinou. V této expozici byla např. simulace potápění Titaniku, ukázka vodních proudů při nájezdu lodi, vyvažování lodi pomocí kontejnerů (malých kostek) a spousty dalších exponátů.

 Nám se nejvíce líbila simulace potápění Titaniku. Byl to velký nahnutý kontejner, do kterého jste vlezli, a vevnitř to vše začalo. Světlo hrozivě blikalo a všude se ozývala houkačka oznamující nebezpečí. Naproti vchodu bylo zrcadlo, které vás ještě víc zmátlo. Když jste se dostali nahoru, mohli jste sjet po klouzačce, nebo sejít dolů po schodech.

Další zajímavý exponát byla dlouhá trubice, která vám měla ukázat, jakou sílu má tlak vody. Spočívalo to v tom, že jste měli dát pod trubici ruku, ale bez prstýnků a náramků, které by mohly způsobit potíže, a stisknout tlačítko. V tu chvíli začala do trubice stékat voda a trubice se pomalu plnila. Jak voda v trubici stoupala, tlak na vaši ruku se postupně zvyšoval. Bylo to zajímavé.

Pak jsme šli do jiné místnosti, kde jsme si mohli vyzkoušet různé pokusy s vodou. Byl zde vyobrazen koloběh vody, mohli jsme si vyzkoušet, jak funguje plavební komora a mnoho dalších aktivit.

Tento výlet se nám líbil a jsme rádi, že jsme mohli jet.
