Experimentarium

  • Experimentarium

In the course of our Denmark exchange we also visited the Experimentarium, which is a scientific museum in Hellerup, near Copenhagen. It´s divided into three floors, each of them focusing on a different type of science.

On the first floor, there are stands where you can learn about the port, energy, the human body, the beach, body senses and do activities which involve movement.

We focused mostly at the beach information because it is an important part of our project. The intention of this floor was to show basic fundamentals of fluid dynamic, static physics and biology.

Upstairs, there were more additional stands where you could do activities working on a construction site, learning about robotics, bubbles, reading about a company full of ideas, and completing puzzles.

On the middle floor, there was the LYS, which is a labyrinth where sounds and lasers were combined together. This floor is focused mostly on creating new ideas and inventing devices. The rooftop was mainly a playground for kids but there also were telescopes to see the city from a high place.

The museum makes scientific topics much more interesting, especially for children, through the variety of activities, especially "hands-on activities".  There were a variety of small games or puzzles which makes learning more exciting and easier.

The main intention of the Experimentarium is to show people how science and mechanic works and to make kids keep learning science by touching it with their own hands.

We really had a good time and lots of fun, and we learnt more about the subjects that we are currently studying at school.
