I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Hugona Kołłątaja in Krotoszyn (HKHS)

  • Welcome to our school!

We are a secondary school of around 500 students and have recently switched from a 3-year to a 4-year system, which means we now take in 14/15-year old students who stay with us until they are 18/19.

We teach a variety of extended courses or "profiles" as we call them and each class is assigned to one profile:  the "bio-chem", the "math-physics", the "Polish language-history/biology" or the "math-geo". Some of them also study extended English.

Students at HKHS come from diverse backgrounds of the town or countryside families, many of them commute to school. Some have had the chance to travel and see the world, some have not.

The school is involved in the life of the town community through a close cooperation with both local and regional institutions of culture and education; before covid-related changes we hosted poviat ceremonies and festivities for national holidays or all kinds of cultural or educational conferences and gatherings.

The school inner life has become subdued since the introduction of covid restrictions and has lost some of its highlight events but this resulted in focusing more on schoolwork and anjoying the fact that we can actually meet one another in person rather than via the net.
