MBG visits waste treatment facility Linkenbach

  • Our visit to Linkenbach

This picture shows our German Erasmus+-group at the end of our guided tour around the site of the waste treatment facility Linkenbach.

The public facility disposes different manners of refuse like recyclables, paper, residuary waste and electronic scrap. So plastic is disposed by SUEZ as you can see in the article below.

After we drove to Linkenbach we listened to a presentation by a member of the waste treatment facility werein he told us a lot about the waste disposal system in Germany and especialy in Neuwied. Thereafter we had to put on safety wests and he showed us the site with all its buildings. Finally, we discussed the day and travelled back to school in the evening.

About the history of the public waste treatment facility in Linkenbach it is to say that in the past it was first an uncontrolled place to depose waste. Over time and according to the laws of each time, it developed to become the waste disposal facility it is today - with an advanced mechanical biological treatment plant.
