The course of classical mechanics consists of kinematics and dynamics. It can be considered as just a necessary part of a physics course without any sense of excitement or curiosity. We tried to change this view and challenged ourselves with a new approach...
Slovak students of the 1st year of the bilingual programme were studying mechanics in two stages.
First, they learnt about the motion, the basic quantities, units and the graphs and they prepared their wordwall quizzes on the topic.
Secondly, they were searching the topic deeper and looked for the historical milestones in the study of free fall, looked for practical usage of the theory in parachuting and monitoring of the gravitatoional field of Earth or some of them were keen on the work of international projects and organisations like NASA or ESA.
