Students had the opportunity to explore and learn more about Aphrodite, an ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty. The aim was to understand myths and to get to know Cyprus more. 

The birthplace of Aphrodite it happens to be one of the most beautiful beaches near Paphos. Someone can see the enormous rock (Petra to Romiou), where the legend says that Aphrodite was born from the ocean. The legend also mentions that she was born near the temple built at Old Paphos  to worship her, dating back to the Bronze Age.

Legend also tells that she rose from the waves and was escorted on a shell. In addition other myths tell that if someone swims around the rock three times will bring eternal youth and beauty.

At the end students had to answer and to research various questions on Aphrodite and even Greek vocabulary.
