September 2016, the week from 22 to 30. All delegations met in Huelva to plan our two-year project
We welcomed our visitors:
In our work sessions, we organized activities to be done according to our chronogram. Pedro León, a student at IT Vocational training, gave a presentation on how the platform of electronic material works and monitor our work.
- In our workshop of recycled coffee capsules, Carmen Repiso, a former student, showed us how to make pieces of jewlery.
We toured the city, visiting the main restaurants in order to collect cork bottle tops, they'll be used in future workshops to make our students aware of the environment:
All delegations visited our vegetable eco garden, even some of our partners planted some seeds. The picture on the right shows the scene. The third one, five months later:
The most relevant activity was A22 in our chronogram: Application of the online recycling platform for electronic material. Pedro León, a student at Vocational Studies (IT) made a presentation in English on how the platform works. So, the partner schools will be able to implement it as well.
- We visited a small business "trapos", a shop where they upcycle things or make handicrafts out of recycled materials. They also teach people to knit, sew, make embroidery, etc.
- We visited an association called Traperos. Initially, it was an NGO, they live out of what others discard: waste. They collect it, classify it, recycle or upcycle it and sell it. They are a good example of waste management. their methodology lies on three pillars: Economic, social, ecological.
