Maniaeio 6th Pr. School - Our school garden and our dietary habits

  • At the beginning of autumn, we planted lettuce and scallions in the flower beds of our school yard, which we later enjoyed daily in our sandwiches.

The classes of the 2nd Grade, B1 and B2, discussed the dietary habits of Ancient Greeks and how these have evolved to Mediterranean Diet. They visited a small forest which is situated near our school. This visit took place not only in the framework of the Erasmus project but also of another project called "Healthy Diet" and worked on by the 2nd Grade specifically. There, the students ate bread with olive oil, tomato, feta cheese and olives. Furthermore, they planted a olive tree which was adopted by and named after our school.
