Here students from Arden School tell about their school:

This is our new school.

The school has cost 43 millions kr. = 577.742 EUR. Here you see a staircase up to the 2nd floor, where our eldest students will be. Some of the students had to move the classroom up to an old Kindergarden during the rebuilding. We have got new chairs and tables in our Class.  we got a new kitchen.

                      

 

 

ARDUINO

In our school we have workshops between our middle school classes,. which means we can choose what we will learn. Me and my friend learned about Arduino.An arduino is a computer you can programme to do things. First we learned how to programme it and when you do that, you take your computer and you download a program so you can begin coding and then you find out what you want to programme.First we programmed a diode which is a little lamp that we programmed so it could blink.Then we started programming bigger stuff and we build a robot.and some of the pupils were so into it, so they learned how to programme a RGB-light (red-green-blue) that basically can show any color you want.

 

Here you can see two boys that are trying to play a game with a makey makey which is almost the same as an Arduino.

The School Garden

On Arden School  we have a garden, where we grow vegetables and have bees.

In the garden we have a place for a bonfire, around the place for a bonfire there are benches we can sit on.

Sometimes  we make pancakes over the bonfire, we have also made roasted apples with cinnamon and honey.

In the garden there has been vandalism, some of the raised garden became spoiled and there were cigarettes laying around, beer cans and the carrots was pulled up of the ground. We really want people to help keeping our garden safe.

One time we removed weeds and gave fertilizer.  

 

In the garden we cultivate our vegetables.

We have among other peas, carrots, potato and onion we have also many other vegetables.

We plant seeds in May and in September we harvest the vegetables.

When the vegetables are ready we make them sometimes into soup and it taste very good.

If there are snails we will kill them with salt or a scissors because we do not want them to eat our vegetables.

in September we fix the beds and give them water.  

During winter we are not in the garden very much but we did have a bonfire and got apples and honey one time.
