Bath University TAPS Science Fair

  • Shoscombe Pupils from Year 5 and 6 went to Bath University to the Bath Taps into Science Fair

There were many different stands to visit at the fair. There were lots of ‘hands on’ experiences exploring key ideas, scientific principles and facts. Highlights included:

    • The opportunity to hold a giant millipede and snail - don’t worry, millipedes don’t actually bite!
    • Discovering how a black hole works - with the assistance of some marbles!
    • Under close examination, with a microscope, students could see how bacteria had eaten away a plant’s leaves.
    • Bath University’s very own racing car was something all pupils found inspiring.
    • Our Danish ‘teds’ called Kakka and Billie enjoyed the science event too. Here they are sitting on a bridge built by pupils.
