Kalymnian students visit Bath - October 2017

  • On October 7th 2017 our group of two teachers and seven pupils flew to Gatwick Airport with destination to Bath, England. On Sunday, we met the partners of our Erasmus project, we visited Bath Centre and went sightseeing along with the parents of St. Julian's School. On Monday morning, we went to St Julian's, watched the Harvest Festival celebrations and participated in its activities. Later, we showed a PowerPoint presentation of our school to the 2nd grade of St. Julian's. On Tuesday, all partners and pupils went by bus to Stourhead National Trust Property where we were informed about its history and architecture. Groups of pupils and teachers from differert countries were formed in order to create artwork by using natural materials after having watched a video about the artist Andy Goldsworthy. On Wednesday, we visited Holburne Museum. There we observed the features these buildings have in common with the Greek ones and took part in a building design workshop. Later on, we had a marvelous walk alongside the canal. The same evening we had a farewell party with the host families and all the partners and pupils of all countries. On Thursday, our project came to an end. We made many good friends, strengthened the bonds with our old friends, met pupils who had visited Kalymnos last June and set a date for our next meeting in Spain in March 2018.
