The main focus was on the application to be developed because it is a very big challenge for everyone. A common programming language must be found in which all five participating countries can produce a program designed for their own country of residence.

In order to jointly prepare the "App" (SustainApp), we met for the first project meeting in Tenerife, Spain, from November 25th to December 1st.

During the workshop we started to get acquainted with the MIT APP INVENTOR program, which will form the basis of the application to be developed.

We also discussed the tasks of the next workshop that our school will give at home. That meeting will be crucial to the application, so we are very much in the process of getting ready. Ms. Marianna Törökné Karakas and Csanád Pléli ​​10th grade student, who is the ambassador of our project, are putting a lot of work into learning and practicing the program so that they can pass on their knowledge to the highest standards in Budapest.

After spending time in front of computers, we had the opportunity to get to know Tenerife's natural features, flora and fauna.

We visited Mount Teide (3718m), which with its neighbors (Pico Viejo and Montaña Blanca) forms a central volcanic block. The volcano and its surrounding area is part of the National Park Teide (Parque Nacional del Teide), which covers 18,900 hectares and has been a World Heritage Site since 2007. The Pico de Teide volcano is also the third largest volcano on earth. The volcano last erupted in 1798, but future eruptions are expected.

We visited La Laguna (full name San Cristóbal de la Laguna), a city that has been a World Heritage Site since 1999, the old capital of Tenerife with its cozy little streets and small houses. In La Laguna, the statues, palaces, and the 17th-18th centuries meet each other. century houses. The university city of San Cristóbal de la Laguna, besides its 130,000 inhabitants, is the temporary home of 30,000 extremely fortunate students. The city was founded in the 15th century, while the university was founded in 1701. In 1723 La Laguna lost its status as capital, and Santa Cruz has since become the capital of Tenerife.

In the world-famous Loro Park, we got to know many different species of animals, including many native parrots.

We went to the banana plantation, which was very interesting because the slopes of the Tenerife mountains are not planted with grapes, as with us, but with banana shrubs and prickly pear. In many places we have experienced the biggest environmental problem of the Tenerife, the water shortage.

On the last day we learned about the flora in the island's largest botanical garden.

Jártunk banánültetvényen, ami nagyon érdekes volt abból a szempontból, mert Tenerife hegyeinek lejtői nem szőlővel vannak beültetve, mint nálunk, hanem banáncserjékkel és fügekaktuszokkal. Több helyen megtapasztaltuk a tenerifeiek legnagyobb környezeti problémáját, a vízhiányt is.

Az utolsó napon a sziget legnagyobb botanikus kertjében ismerkedtünk a növényvilággal.
