INTRODUCTION 

MAN AND CREATION 

(From relationship to responsibility for nature and creation)

The relationship between man and the natural enviroment where he lives is probably the most essential one to reflect on.

Considering the European culture, we can see how this fundamental relationship was interpreted during centuries in different ways, according to different points of view on man and nature.

We suggest to consider particularly the following:

a. Man at the center of Creation (An asymmetrical relationship between man and nature)

b. Man sometimes overcomes nature, coming to a destructive relationship with it.

c. Man can explore and get to know many aspects of nature, and get amazed by what he discoveres

d. Man has always needed to imagine how the world was born, narrating and showing the creation through art.
