It started with the European hymn...
When the second students meeting was near - the first meeting in Wilhelmshaven - students from different classes and courses of "Neues Gymnasium Wilhelmshaven" were involved to prepare the activities for the meeting with our partner school from Portogruaro.
The Latin students from class 7 were asked to copy the Latin text of the European hymn - so that we could sing it together during our small opening ceremony.
Here are two examples, written by Lara (class 7b) and Lindsay (class 7c):
When we translated the text into German and talked about the values which are mentioned in the text, this was the beginning of a new project.
Because the students of class 7 had many questions about Europe and its countries, but also many ideas about a European project.
And this was the beginning of a small project of Latin class 7 in Wilhelmshaven:
"Est Europa nunc unita - und vereint möge es bleiben!"
It started in May, connected to the European week, and lasted until the summer holidays. We found great partners and had much fun together;
