... these are the first words of the 'Cantico frate Solis' in its original (medieval) Italian (=Umbrian) version. Only 20 years later, a Latin version came into being and became very soon an important part of the common European literal heritage - and certainly one of the most beautiful pieces of the Latin literature of the middle ages!
