LSVC-Learning by Sharing in Virtual Cafes

The project basically intends to raise students general knowledge and enhance their practical skills on various school subjects with a project based approach by unearthing their potentials and helping them empower their sense of entrepreneurship and creativity.

  • We set up the school teams and introduced the project.
  • We prepared  LSVC project menu.
  • All the students in the  project schools presented themselves through padlet,voki or linoit.Some teams also recorded a presentation video.
  • We collected the dates of birth of all the students in an e book  so that we could celebrate their birthday on project journal.Students in each school designed a logo for the project.The school teams voted for the best logo.

  • We set up 10 transnational teams.Each of the involved teacher got two transnational teams as mentor teachers thorough the year.Students suggested a name for their transnational team.After the team names were determined,the students in each team presented themselves to other team members through padlets.
  • The school teams presented their school and hometown though prezi or emaze or with some videos.

  • We worked in the first virtual cafe,Cafe Europe.
  • Students posted videos  about Europe,EU and their countries.They created poster about Europe,EU and citizenship.They explored about Europe,played online games and took quizzes about Europe.
  • We cretaed threads for the trasnnational teams on forumpage.Students in each team wrote a line about Europe and then their mentor tecaher collected all the lines together and created a joint  song about Europe.After that each team created a melody for their own European song.Finally we had ten songs and ten melodies.
  • We determined 10 different topic.One topic for each team.Each transnational team  members collaborated  with each other through mindmap.
  • Studenst took an online quiz for the  Cafe Europe.They got their certificated and we collected their certificated in an ebook.We also created an padlet so that the studenst from all the teams could  post their comments about the activities  in the first virtual cafe.

  • We worked in Cafe History.Students posted videos about the history of Europe and their own country to promote their general knowledge.
  • We created ten interactive walls for the every rasnational team.Students posted a historical figure from the history of their own and Europe or  the world and uploaded  his/her picture to their  team padlet and  presented that  historical figure.
  • This time students presented a historical figure through voicethread and uploaded it to Twinspace.We  prepared an an e book for the historical figures presented by the members of transnational teams as the final results of the second cafe.
  • We preapred an online quiz  and the students  took it for the  Cafe History.They got their certificates .We collected all their certificates in an ebook.We also created an padlet so that the students could  post their comments about the activities  in Cafe History.
  • We exchanged new year cards.

  • Cafe Literature was the third virtual cafe.We collaboarted in various tasks.Students posted  their famous poems of  their favourite poets as well as reading performances of the poems.
  • They made a wish  about the world of the books or literature.They posted their wishes on a padlet we created.
  • Students read  the poem Annabel Lee by American poet and writer Edgar Allan Poe.Each stanza were read by a single team.Some other students  played background music.After that the parts of the poem were brought together in a joint video.

  • We continued to work in Cafe Literature.This time the students read a poem in their own language (with a background music)
  • The schools teams worked on Forumpage on Twinspace and suggested poets or writers from their country's and world literature  and collected some basic information about those figures and their famious works.After that  we collected  all the information in an e book as title of Poets Anthology.So we created an Anthology for the Poets and Authours as the final result of Cafe Literature.
  • Students took an online quiz about the Anthology and we created an ebook for the quiz certificates.Also we got the instant feedback of the students through the tool AnswerGarden about the activities of Cafe Literature.

  • It was the month of Cafe Languages.Students created things by writing about the things that occur in the world  and expressed their opinion with one or  two lines and drew it and then we collected their work in an ebook named ”Write for the World.
  • We created ten interactive walls-padlet- for the transnational teams.Each team wrote a story and drew for their story and finally the mentor teacher of each transnational team  arranged the story of their teams and  created a short story.The stories were  also vocalised by one of the team members.Finally we had ten collaborative short story as well as ten recorded ones so that the other teachers and students would also benefit them in the next years.

  • In April we worked in  Cafe Maths.Students searched  and posted some information about the famous mathematicians. 
  • Students got help from the Maths teachers in their school.Maths teachers  suggested a math question and  published it on a padlet and studenst  tried to solve those  questions.We called the activity as the question of the day.
  • Also we suggested  the students some links about Maths and Maths games or quizzes and they played them and took the quizzes and wrote their opinion in a padlet.
  • Thhey wrote funny Maths Poems and a few Fibonacci Poems.We brought together the poems in an ebook called "Maths Poems"
  • Students took their camera or smartphones with them and  tried to see  the maths-gemoetry in their classroom,school and city,historical buildings, and even in vegetables and fruits poetry and some historical landmarks in their own country …etc.After that, we made a presentation for all their pictures.

  • In May we worked in Cafe Art.It was the lasy virtal cafe of LSVC.
  • First the students  sreached for some information about the famous artists and posted  them on a padlet.
  • We drew ajoint painting.It was the mixture  one of the famous paintings of leading artists in each project country.Each school team drew a  single  art work and then posted it to other school.So the same paitning  was posted until all the school completed their own part.Each step of the team performance about it were photographed.
  • In another task, each school  chose a famous painting  and uplaoded it to Twinspace.School  Teams  wrote a  single story to each painting.Finally we had  25  creative stories about five famous paintings.
  • Students from each school team portyrayed with  ten famous paintings.
  •  We brought together all the art works in an  e book titled LSVC  Art Book as the final results of the Cafe Art.

  • We organized LSVC project exhibition to share the project results with the whole school,other schools,parents and local authorities.
  • We invited our collegaues from other schools,cities or countries to get their opinion about our project.
  • The involved students and the teacher took a final questionnaire to see to what extent the project achieved its goals in the project schools.We created a goodbye padlet to get students feedback and also recorded videos about it.
  • We preapred two final  video clips (shorter clip ---longer clip) for our project and a final e book  was prepared as the summary of the whole project year.

  • We got the dates of birth of all the students and collected it in an ebook.And so we celebrated the birthday of our students on project journal through the year.
  • We organized Skype and webex meetings among the project schools.
  • Every month we chose the T-Winners of the month.One studenst from every school was suggested by their teachers by taking account some criteria.We announced  the twinners of the month from the project journal every month.It was very motivating for the other students for the following month.
  • We formed eTwinning corner and presented our project and shared the results with all the school through the year.
  • We made interviews with the other subject teachers,headmasters or local authorities to disseminate our project.
  • We set up a page on facebook  and built a website to disseminate the project to a greater audience.
  • We set up whatsapp groups to communicate with each other instantly.
