Impact of the project at EEEEK Kalamatas
The impact of the project is slightly different at a special needs school. These are the main impacts in EEEEK Kalamatas
Special needs students had the chance to socialise with students from other countries.
Students had the chance to meet/socialize with students with special needs and understand in more depth their everyday challenges.
The project had a mental impact on the special neeeds students.
The project highlighted the importance of All day/life long education - about all aspects of life esp on people with special needs and their caregivers and fellow students.
The Greek students got involved with topics like recycling, healthy eating and exercising: the school has added an hour a week to teach about recycling and collect any recyclable garbage, two days a week the students prepare a healthy meal usually fruit or vegetable salads and they share with everyone and finally once a month (due to covid restrictions) they do a 3km walk by the seaside.
Sint-Paulus School in Herzele was nominated as a candidate for the Strafste School in Belgium (the most special school in Belgium).
The project partner schools supported the Belgian school in this contest (see video below):
The jury of the contest rewarded Sint Paulus Instituut as the most European minded school of all the different contestants.
During the visit of the jury to the Belgian school an eTwinning online meeting with one of the project partners was held. See the event below:
