The Council of Europe declared a European Day of Languages to be celebrated on 26th of September each year to alert the public on the importartance of plurilingualism and intercultural understanding, to raise awareness on the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe, and encourage language learning in and out of school. 

This is why we celebrate the European Day of Languages.
