This half term we have been focusing on football during our PE lessons with Mrs Smith. The children have been exploring different ways to attack and defend and have been developing ways to outwit opponents. We have focused on tactics based on the movement of the ball as well as choice of skill execution. During our lessons we have focused on the importance of team work, fair play and sportsmanship with opportunities for the children to referee and coach small groups.

This week we finished our PE unit of football with an inter house tournament. The children were very excited to represent their house groups and enjoyed coming together as a team. During the tournament, the children had to use control and accuracy when handling the ball and had to apply this to a game situation. The spectating teams helped to referee and make fair decisions along the way.
