"CLIL ACROSS THE BORDERS - ENJOY AND LEARN"

In September we had a great honour to host our friends from Slovakia, Serbia and the Czech Republic. The meeting was on from 27th September to 1st October 2021.

    Monday

On the first day, there was an official welcome at Krzysztof Szkudlarek's Centre of Culture in Witkowo. During the meeting each group of students along with their teachers gave a short presentation about their school, region and country. Later, our headmistress Urszula Potaś and the mayor of our town and commune Marian Gadziński made a speech. They said a few words about our school and region.

Then, we took part in music workshops. Professional musicians told us about the construction and history of different musical instruments. Next, we sang together a few Polish national songs. Songbooks were prepared by our students. We had a great fun singing together.

Later, we went to school for lunch. After lunch, we took part in 3 different workshops: singing workshop, dancing workshop and art workshop.

    Tuesday

On the second day, we visited Ostrów Lednicki. It's a place where Poland was baptized. We took part in a ferry cruise to the island. The guide told us about the history of this place. During the lesson, he showed us a few everyday objects from that times. Later, he gave us a ppossibilty to look for medieval pottery. Two Polish students found slivers of mugs.

Later, we went to Grzybowo where we had a chance to feel and experience the past and the living of people in medieval times. We took part in many workshops there for example writing in medieval alphabet, learning to hunt, shooting arrows, throwing an axe, making pots and mugs from clay. We could try on medieval armour and we played a medieval game. At the end, we were knighted.

The fifth day we spent at our school. First workshop was devoted to practising the dance and singing of the song "Szła dzieweczka". Then, we prepared posters summarising LA in Poland. We worked in 3 groups. In the meantime, there was organised a robots' station. These were robots made and programmed by our students. Each participant could try how they work or program them on his/her own. Later, we had lunch at school.

After lunch, an official closing of the meeting began. Firstly, there was a piano show prepared by one of our students Tymon Tupurins. Then there was a karate show prepared by our students from Year 5. Later, we presented our posters and the dance and the song. It was great fun learning and doing all these things together. Then our headmistress made a speech and handed out the certificates and gifts prepared by our students. Next, Jana made a speech. We were really happy to hear such nice words.

In the evening, we had a disco for all participants of the project. We chatted and danced together. We ate delicious pizzas. It was hard to say goodbye. Some of us couldn't stop crying. We can't wait to see our friends during the next learning activity which will be held in Serbia.
