Here are our activities that we did to celebrate the World Water Day.
WORLD WATER DAY IN ANDREJ SLÁDKOVIČ PRIMARY SCHOOL, SLIAČ – 22 MARCH
March 22 was declared World Water Day in 1992, by the UN General Assembly at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro. During this day, people engage in activities aimed at promoting public awareness of the irreplaceable importance of water.
Water is part and parcel of our lives. Life is not possible without it. It is related to many areas: water resources, drinking water, hygiene, agriculture, ecology or natural disasters.
Therefore, let´s revere it and not waste it! It´s really rare. All the rarer, because many countries and nations struggle with its shortage every day.
Our younger pupils in our School children´s club engaged some activities.
ESCAPE GAME IN MATHS LESSON
On 22 March 2021, on the occasion of World Water Day, the pupils of the fifth grade were looking for a key from a locked well in Maths lessons. The pupils were solving the tasks individually at home.
Their task was to go through different exercises, that were focused on the work with graphs, reading schemes and charts, completing the text about water and so on. The opening image of the WATER CYCLE IN NATURE served as a model for them. Moving pictures offered videos, diagrams, counting exercises or puzzles. After the correct solution of the exercise, they were shown an indication – one letter. The exercises could be solved by the students at random, they had to put together two words from the obtained clues – WATER DAY. If they had formed these words correctly and entered them in the last lock, a locked well opened for them.
